SAS NAGAR, Aug 30: Congress candidate for Roopnagar reserved Lok Sabha seat Shamsher Singh Dullo visited Guru Nanak Colony in Phase X and addressed the gathering in various colonies and appealed to the residents to strengthen the hands of the Congress.

The rally was also addressed by leaders of CPI and CPM. According to block president, Jaswinder Singh Kaka, the Pardhans of different colonies have assured of their their support to Congress.

During his campaigning in the township, he was weighed in coins at Phase VI, Industrial Area by local industrialists and they appealed to him to abolish the octroi tax and Dullo assured them that he would take up the matter with the government.

In a meeting of representatives of International Institute of Sikh Studies, Kalepani Foundation, Association of retired Government college lecturers and principals, Kamboj International Brotherhood and Lokshati Sena, Indian Overseas Foundation, Punjabi Film Producers8217; Association, Sikh Lawyers8217; Association, Punjab and Sikh Intellectual Council, Moga, under the auspices of the Institute of Punjab Affairs have resolved to support the National Democratic Alliance, led by Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee.
