New Delhi, April 19: Even as the talk of change in Congress leadership in Delhi gains credence, president of the Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee, Choudhary Prem Singh, has made a desperate plea to the general secretary of the All India Congress committee, Oscar Fernandes, not to make him a scapegoat for the defeat of the Congress in Delhi.

He has cited the track record of his detractors who he claims have lost all elections and want him axed to save their skins.

Citing Sajjan Kumar’s case, Prem Singh has said that Kumar had nominated Pt Deep Chand Sharma for the outer Delhi ticket but could not get him elected. How is Prem Singh to blame for Sharma’s defeat, asks one of the former’s supporters. A similar question is being raised in connection with Jagdish Tytler. “He wanted M M Aggarwal to get the ticket which he was denied. Then why is he blaming Prem for the defeat?” the supporter adds.
