This refers to the news report ‘These kids told: you are Dalit, go eat elsewhere’ (IE, December 16). We are progressing towards what? It is shameful to read of such uncivilised acts from the state where the great Mahatma was born. The chief minister of Gujarat should give his explanation for what has happened and arrest those involved in such incidents. —Mahalingam On e-mail Towering Wall With his innings of control and temperament, Rahul Dravid has shown that he is not only most reliable, but can also bat as the situation demands (‘I don’t have Sachin’s gifts, but I fight and do my best’, IE, December 15). It is a matter of irony that today corruption is not a major issue for any political party. It is absurd to say that the people give a clean chit to corrupt politicians by electing them. There are many factors which play a role in elections. In any case, the so-called public opinion can be manipulated with the help of money and muscle power. —Malkangiri Ravi K. Hyderabad Extend the net It’s time for Nepal to do that job too and arrest all top terrorists operating from its soil (‘Bhutan fights in India’s war on terror’, IE, December 16).
