PUNE, May 13: Operations at Pune Maldhakka came to a total standstill today owing to the flash strike called by the members of the Transporters and Dock Workers Union.

About 2,400 workers of the Union who assist in unloading goods from Pune Railway Station boycotted work to protest against the alleged action taken against one of their colleagues. According to the secretary of the Pune Clearing and Forwarding Agents Association, Kamlesh Dave, one of the workers had allegedly misbehaved at the meeting of the Union members, Labour Board officials and association members to discuss an increase in salaries of the workers, following which a memorandum was submitted to the Police Commissioner protesting against his behaviour on Tuesday. He alleged that none of the workers reported for work today because of the misunderstanding.
