Doc held for youth8217;s death

MUMBAI, Oct 27: The police have arrested a doctor for unwittingly administering an injection which killed a youth in Mulund last evening.

Sanjay Rathod 21, a resident of Shankar Tekdi, Mulund Colony, approached Dr Nirmalsingh Rajendrasingh Gill with a vial of Tracrium8217; which he wanted Gill to inject him. The doctor, without ascertaining the vial8217;s content, administered the injection. Moments later, Rathod felt giddy and died.

Police investigations have revealed that Rathod was not sick but a friend had recommended the drug for vitality.

The doctor has been arrested under section 304 of the Indian Penal Code. He was arrested after the residents of the area staged a protest at Mulund west on Tuesday afternoon seeking action against the doctor.
