PUNE, Oct 22: SATSEVA, an institution providing free terminal care to dying cancer patients at home, will organise a function Diwali with a purpose8217; on October 30 at Nehru Memorial Hall. Noted industrialist Arun Firodia and film actor Shashi Kapoor will participate in the function.

SATSEVA which is run by the Care India Medical Society is a patient out-reach programme and provides analgesic drug therapy for pain management. Doctors from SATSEVA visit the patients at home and administer pain relief drugs and other medicines.

As part of the drive to provide emotional support to the dying cancer patients under care, SATSEVA visits the families to greet them on the occasion of Diwali. The function also invites families whose patients have passed away so that they can give vent to their feelings of grief.

Shashi Kapoor will be visiting the cancer patients at home before participating in the function organised on the occasion of Diwali. District Collector Vijaykumar Gautam and Secretary, Health Services Dr B M Dama will also be present.
