NEW DELHI, April 21: Sixteen teams in four pools will participate in the 10th All-India Disabled Cricket Championship beginning in Lucknow on April 23. The three-day tournament will have its matches played in four grounds of the city. It will be inaugurated by veteran cricketer Ajit Wadekar, chairman of the national team selection committee. Dr A W Siddique, organising secretary of the tournament, said that players with at least 40 per cent physical disability would be participating.
Pool A8217; will have Rajasthan, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh besides hosts Uttar Pradesh, while pool B8217; consists of Mumbai, Karnataka, Gujarat and Vidharbha. Holders Madhya Pradesh are placed in pool C8217; along with Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Central Railway. Delhi, Haryana, Saurashtra and Vocational Rehabilitation Centre form pool D.8217;
The venues would be K D Singh Babu Stadium, North Eastern Railway ground, Chowk Stadium and King George Medical College ground.
Qutub nursery
A 40-day talent-search camp will be organised at Qutub Nursery nets at Mehrauli from May 10.
