Although H.D. Deve Gowda called the withdrawal of JDS support to Congress 8220;the saddest day8221; of his life, the news of his withdrawing support to the Congress has been in circulation for some time now. It is hard to believe that he has been duped by his own son. Gowda has been waiting very long to establish dynastic rule. He has achieved his objective quietly. By pretending to hold his high principle of secularism, while turning a blind eye to the revolt of his son, Gowda has hit two birds with a single stone.
