ROOPNAGAR, JUNE 22: The members of Punjab Home Guards Welfare Association have resolved to organise a two-day camp for desilting Asthghaat at Gurdwara Patalpuri in Kiratpur Sahib on September 11. In a statement issued to the Press, association vice-president Bakhtawar Singh Saini disclosed that the members of All India Professional Divers8217; Association have also agreed to participate in the camp being organised as part of the Khalsa tercentenary festivities. The move is significant in the light of demand of the public for desilting of Asthghaat, where the Sikhs immerse ashes of their dead.

Housefed profit

  • Housefed has earned a profit of 3.55 crore during 1998-99 as compared to 2.43 crore in the preceding year. It has now been placed under Category A8217; by HUDCO, thereby enabling it green channel treatment for loan assistance. This was stated Minister of Cooperation Ranjit Brahmpura said Housefed had already constructed 888 houses at SAS Nagar and Ludhiana, besides developing 495 plots at Bathinda.
