PANCHKULA, JUNE 21: The Hind Choi Kwang-do Martial Art Association today organised its first annual demonstration and awards function here at the Arya Samaj Mandir in Sector 9. Bharat Vikas Parishad local unit president C.B. Goyal was the chief guest of the function, which began an hour behind schedule. Kids demonstrated self defence techniques and also performed tile breaking techniques. The more intricate techniques were demonstrated by the instructors of the association.

Speaking on the occasion, C. B. Goel, the chief guest, lauded the efforts of the association in training the children in martial arts and also encouraging their participation. Claiming that the martial arts originated in India, he said there was a need to systemise it. The Chief Guest also gave away mementos to the instructors 8211; Arjun Verma, Chandrika Prasad and Jaisingh Rana, all are black belt holders. Mementos were also presented to assistant instructors 8211; Gurdeep Singh, Kuldeep Singh and Ankur Goyal. Later, over 150 students who completed their training were given away certificates. Also present on the occasion were the chairman of the Association, Lt Col B. M. Talwar retd, the president of the Association, Vikrant and the general secretary and chief instructor B. S. Thapa, who is a Black belt from USA.
