20-year-old youth stabbed to death
A 20-year-old youth was stabbed to death on Wednesday morning in Najafgarh. The motive for the attack or the identity of the attackers is not yet known. Rishi Dev, a resident of New Roshanpura was on his way to Hyatt, a five-star hotel, where he works. He had reached the Chawla bus stand when two youths approached him and stabbed him with a knife. He was rushed to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The Najafgarh police have registered a case of murder and are investigating the case.

Police register case of murder
The Vivek Vihar police have registered a case of murder following the statement of the wife of the victim, a 35-year-old Blueline conductor whose body was recovered from a drain in the area.

In her statement, Anil Kumar8217;s wife Meena has alleged that he had been killed by some students with whom he had had an altercation on April 22. Seeing that he was outnumbered, he jumped off the bus and fled, pursued by the students. He was found in a drain on the same day and was rushed to the Guru Tegh Bahadur Hospital but was declared dead on arrival. According to the police, there were no external injury marks on his body. The body has been sent for postmortem but the results have not yet been declared.

2 bodies found
The bodies of a 30-year-old woman and a 45-year-old man were found in separate areas of the city on Tuesday night. Found near the Nangloi Railway Station, the woman8217;s throat had been slit and bore multiple stab wounds. She is yet to be identified. Police say the woman seems to be from a poor family and has the name Kishan8217; tattooed on her left arm. In another case, the body of Rajinder Pal alias Billa was found in a gutter near his house in Sangam Vihar. He had been stabbed in the neck and shoulder.

Man crushed to death
A 40-year-old man was reportedly crushed to death under a luggage lift at a steel factory in the Okhla Industrial Area on Tuesday evening. Khushe Yadav was working with the Delta Com Steel Furniture factory in Okhla Phase I. He was waiting for the repair work on the luggage lift to be completed so that he could carry the raw material into the factory. However, after the lift was put into operation, it came crashing down on him instead of moving up.

One killed in accident
A 55-year-old man was killed and his wife injured when they were hit by a mini-bus on the G.T. Road in Seelampur on Tuesday night. The couple was on foot when the accident took place. The area police have arrested the driver and registered a case of death due to rash and negligent driving.
