Debut Dazzle

As if designer Manav Gangwani8217;s inexplicable climb to the top of the fashion charts wasn8217;t startling enough, it seems the 20-something veteran of fashion even has an assistant who 8212; hold your breath 8212; has launched her own line. Gangwani, omnipresent at any party concerning fashion in Delhi, by the way, shot to fame, when Raveena Tandon wore his creations at her wedding.

Rashita Sehra, 27, put together her first fashion show at Manre, Ramola Bachchan8217;s restaurant at MGF, Saket, after a year-long stint with Gangwani. Sehra, surprisingly enough, hasn8217;t taken any bling and dazzle out of Gangwani8217;s book, despite the generous doses of blinding crystal we were subjected to. Instead, her show 8220;Silver Glimmer8221; looked like a chapter from a vintage scrapbook, with corsets, ballgowns, saris and wedding wear. 8220;Next year, I plan to take part in one of Delhi8217;s fashion weeks, so far I8217;m not sure which,8221; smiled Sehra. Gangwani, predictably enough, is Dubai- bound.
