MUMBAI, October 5: A seven-day debriefing8217; camp, the first step in preparation for the Bangkok Asian Games got underway at the SAI campus, here on Monday, although only three of the 25 probables were present. The other players were expected to join Sameer Dad, Cheops D8217;Costa and AP Girish by Monday evening.

The camp, as explained by chief coach M K Kaushik, intends to 8220;debrief the players about the mistakes that occurred during the Commonwealth Games8221;. India, it may be recalled, finished fourth after losing to hosts Malaysia in the semifinals and England in the bronze medal play-off at Kuala Lumpur.

All the 16 players of the Commonwealth Games team have been invited to the camp. Along with them, seven new8217; goalkeepers will undergo training under former India goalkeeper Mir Ranjan Negi. Two more players 8212; Indian Airlines8217; Sameer Dad and Railways8217; Rajiv Mishra 8212; have also been included, for a list of 25 probables.

8220;We will show the players video recordings of the KL matches and point out themistakes they had committed,8221; said Kaushik. About the inclusion nine players, he said: 8220;The goalkeepers are here for the specialised training. Also, Sameer Dad and Rajiv Mishra would have been a part of our team but for their injuries.8221;

Negi, who has received a SOS of sorts, to train the custodians, said: 8220;The stress in this camp for the goalkeepers would be on fitness.8221;

The camp will conclude on Oct 12. They will assemble here again from Oct 23 for the second phase where they will be joined by 12 more players.
