A day after he quit as BJP president, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha L.K. Advani today met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to brief him about his visit to Pakistan, which culminated with the controversial remarks on Jinnah.

Advani briefed Singh on his talks with Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf, Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz, foreign minister Khurshid Mahmood Kasuri and Opposition leaders, including those from the Pakistan People’s Party and the Muttahida Quami Movement.

Later, Advani told reporters that the Opposition was willing to cooperate with the UPA government to carry forward the India-Pakistan peace process and improve bilateral ties. The Prime Minister is keen to discuss the matter further with BJP leaders, Advani said.
