
While 45 players made the cut at the U.S. Masters on Saturday, America8217;s David Duval headed the list of prominent names who failed to make it to the third round.
World number six Duval, who bogeyed the 17th, needed a birdie at the last to finish inside the three-over-par cut of 147.
But the 2001 British Open champion was unsuccessful, finishing at four-over 148 to miss only his second cut in seven attempts at Augusta and his first since 1997. Paul Azinger, the 1993 US PGA championalso shot 148 to miss out by one. Like Duval, Azinger dropped a shot on the par-four 17th to miss only his fifth cut in 15 Masters appearances. 1996 British Open champion Tom Lehman and New Zealand8217;s Michael Campbell, both failed to reach the third round.
