Panchayat polls in Haryana in Dec
AMBALA: Panchayat elections in Haryana would be conducted in December this year, announced Chief Minister Om Parkash Chautala here today.Talking to media persons he said that municipal council8217;s elections which are due in November would be conducted after the panchayat poll.Chautala said he had directed the district officers to give priority to law and order in their district.He said all the roads of the state would be repaired by May 2000.Chautala claimed that BJP and INLD alliance would win all the 10 Lok Sabha seats of Haryana.

BKU dharna on Sept 29
Patiala: The Bhartiya Kisan Union Ekta here has decided to organise a dharna-cum-demonstration on September 29 at Chandigarh in protest against the state government8217;s indifferent attitude towards the problems of farmers.Peshora Singh and Gurmeet Singh Ditupur, president and generalsecretary of the union, in a joint statement here today, said the state government had failed to make any prior arrangements for the procurement of paddy due to which the farmers faced a lot of problems in the current season.They said keeping in view the elections, the government has announced the procurement date from September 15.

No salary for aviation club workers
PATIALA: The Patiala Aviation Club workers have alleged that they have not been paid salaries for the last two months. They appealed to the government to order a probe into the accounts of the club from an impartial agency.The Patiala Aviation Club Workers Union, affiliated to AITUC, in a statement here today, said the workers did not get even their arrears and the management has not responded positively to their demands.
