Export-import seminar
Rajkot: An export-import orientation seminar is planned at Veraval on Sunday by the Sorath Chamber of Commerce and Industry to create employment opportunities and open new options for those interested in export-import line. The seminar will be held at Mahesh Sanghvi Prathna Mandir, Shishu Mandir School.

Book fair
A four-day book fair, displaying publications of Geeta Press, Gorakhpur, begins at Geeta Vidyalaya, Junction Plot, Rajkot on Saturday. Over 350 titles will be on sale, says organiser Krishna Kumar Mehta. BJP MP Dr Vallabhbhai Kathiria will inaugurate the fair in the presence of Swami Adhyatmanandji of Divine Life Society, Hrishikesh, and Bhaagvatacharya Manharlalji Maharaj.

Eye camp
Adarsh Yuvak Mandal, Maliya Hatina, with support from Tulsidas Charitable Trust, plans an eye camp at Government Hospital at the village on December 9, says sarpanch Mahendra Gandhi.

Get-together
Wankaner taluka koli samaj employees association organised the sixth sneh milan (get-together) programme recently, under chairmanship of mandal president and district panchayat education committee member Panchabhai Dabhi. Dies of burns
Eighteen-year-old Tejal, of Vania Vadi, died of burns on Thursday. The Bhaktinagar police believe it is suicide and are investigating. Meanwhile, Chatura Bhatti, of Bholenath Society, told police that his house was burgled of cash and ornaments worth Rs 9000. Investigation was on.

Memorandum
Saurashta University Area Teachers Association has, in a memorandum to Governor Ansuman Singh, says though the government has agreed to give them the new pay-scales as per the recommendations of the Central Government and also not to cut the pay for the strike period, both the promises are yet to be fulfilled. The association has sought Singh’s intervention.

Blood bank
Jamnagar: A new blood bank at Irwin Hospital opens next month. The building, funded by S P Mehta Cheritable Trust, is ready with modern facilities, and awaits inspection by a team of the Medical Council of India. As soon as the licence is received, the bank will open, says Dr J J Oza.

Attacked
Devang Dakorbhai Patel, of the medical college in Jamnagar, was allegedly attacked by four people in his room on the campus late on Wednesday night. A complaint was lodged with Panchkoshi B division B division police and investigation was on.
