Moving for about two kilometers, the dacoits targeted a small house located in a farm at Handewadi survey number 14 near Nhavrenagar. Some of them managed to enter the house by breaking the back door. The house owner Nivrutti Shripati Nhavre (45) was sleeping in the front room while his daughters and wife were in the adjacent room. The dacoits began snatching ornaments from Nivrutti’s daughters Nanda and Rekha. When they raised an alarm, the dacoits beat Nanda and also Nivrutti who rushed for help. The dacoits managed to pocket two necklaces worth Rs 1000. Nivrutti and Nanda have been admitted to a private hospital.
