Dacoity at Byculla foiled

MUMBAI, October 4: The Byculla police arrested six members of an armed gang who were planning to commit a dacoity at Reay Road on Sunday. Policemen attached to Byculla police station cordoned off the area near Reay Road railway bridge on receiving information that some gangsters were planning to commit a dacoity in the area. The arrested have been identified as Hanif Surve, Ibrahim Sheikh, Abdul Khan, Irshan Pathan, Karam Pathan and Gulamali Sheikh.

Police have seized two swords, a knife, a chopper and a rampuri8217; knife and have also recovered Rs 11,000 in cash, which they believe is the booty of some previous loot.
