Two Delhi govt officials suspended over corruption allegations

The Delhi government has suspended the Kapashera sub-registrar and Mehrauli tehsildar over corruption allegations, cancelled a deed writer’s licence, and reiterated zero tolerance for graft.

The sub-registrar of Kapashera and the tehsildar of Mehrauli was suspended with immediate effect by the Delhi government, following complaints and allegations of corruption.

The action was taken against officials of the Revenue Department who deal directly with the public. Officials said the move followed persistent complaints regarding delays, obstruction of work and alleged corrupt practices.

Kapashera is a major hub for land and property transactions in Southwest Delhi. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said strict action would be taken against any official found guilty.

“There will be zero tolerance towards corruption, and those who obstruct public work will not be spared,” she said.
