MUMBAI, May 20: Mumbai Customs crushed State Bank of India 7-0 in a WIFA Senior Division football match at the Cooperage, today.

The winners led 4-0 at half-time.

Fahim Mohammed netted three goals while Dharmendra Baria booted two. Milton Fernando and Carlton D8217;Souza completed the rout slamming one each.

NAVAL DOCKYARD STORM INTO SEMIS: Naval Dockyard stormed into the semi-finals of the Mumbai District FOotball Tournament for the Air-India Trophy with a thumping 5-1 victory over Greater Bombay Police at the St Xavier8217;s ground, Parel, today.

Andrew Gomes and Melvyn Vaz scored two goals each while Anthony George bulged the net once.

Ganesh Gade reduced the margin for the losers.

NIMKAR TRIUMPHS: Fourth seed Niranjan Nimkar of Thane Janta Sahakari Bank outplayed Shabbir Khan 25-20, 25-14 to win the Thane District Ranking carrom tournament at the Navbharat High School Hall, today.

The tournament, organised by the Oswal Social Group Charitable Trust under the auspices of the Thane District Carrom Association saw Nimkar pick up Rs 5001.

Top seed Shilpa Joshi LIC snuffed out the challenge of second seed Minal Lele 25-20 25-17 for the top prize of Rs 1,500.

Women8217;s singles: Final: Shilpa Joshi bt Minal Lele 25-20, 25-17.

Semifinals: Shilpa Joshi bt Sonal Lele 25-22, 25-16; Minal Lele bt Sujata Haylinge 25-19, 25-13.
