Liquor seized
During raids conducted at different places in the city during the last 24 hours, the police seized 84 litres of liquor worth Rs 1,730 and 25 litres of raw material worth Rs 375. Seven people have been held in this connection and cases booked against them, the police said.

Tortured
The Sayajigunj police has filed a case against a resident of Ganesh Nagar slum for physically and mentally torturing his wife. In the FIR, the woman alleged that she was often beaten up by her husband. In another case, a resident of Fatehpura Panjeri Mohalla, alleged that she too was being physically and mentally tortured by her husband and in-laws. Cases have been registered and are being investigated.

Vehicle thefts
In separate cases of vehicle thefts registered with the police, two vehicles were reportedly stolen from different parts of the city on Saturday. While a Kinetic Honda GJ-6-BB-4893 worth Rs 20,000 was lifted from house no B-45, Karelibaug Housing Society, behind Bright School, a Sunny moped GJ-6-H-3075 worth Rs 4,000 was stolen from Badamdi Baug. The police are investigating the cases.
