
Burns deaths
One Muktabai Bhanu Basu 21, a resident of Priyanka Township, Limbayat, died today evening in the New Civil hospital, where she was being treated for burns sustained three days ago. Quoting the dying declaration of the victim, the police said that kerosene spilt on her dress while she was refilling a stove and it caught fire when she attempted to light the stove later. Basu had been married for four years and was staying with her husband and two children, PSI Borse who is investigating the case said. In another case registered at the Varachha police station, Hansa Dhanji Patel 35 died at noon on Tuesday in the New Civil hospital. She had sustained burns after a wick fell on her clothes at 3 am today. The police have registered cases under CrPC 174 and are investigating.
Hit and run
A motorcyclist sustained severe head and body injuries when he was hit by another motorcycle coming from the opposite direction late on Monday night. According to a case registered in the Salabatpura police station, Mansoorkhan Pathan, who was riding a Suzuki motorcycle GJ 5 P 6226, was hit by an unidentified rider on a Kawasaki Bajaj GJ 5 JJ 5787 near Kinnary Cinema on Ring Road. The unidentified rider fled from the spot. A case under sections of the IPC and MVA has been registered.
Housebreak
Cash and polished diamonds worth Rs 25,000 were reported stolen in a case of housebreaking registered in the Varachha police station. Vallabh Kanji Hadiya in his complaint said that unidentified persons broke into the house of one Vallabh Devabhai at Ishwarkrupa Society and decamped with Rs 3000 in cash and diamonds worth another Rs 22,000. A case under IPC 454 and 380 has been registered.
