
One stabbed to death
A 30-year-old man stabbed his younger brother to death at Dharavi on Sunday night. The police said Nagkumar Chettiyar stabbed his younger brother, Algeshan 41 times with a gupti, killing him on the spot.
The brothers shared a strained relationship over their ancestral property. Around 11.45 p.m on Sunday, the two had an argument over the same issue, following which Nagkumar stabbed his brother. An injured Algeshan was rushed to the Rajawadi hospital but was declared dead before admission. The Dharavi police has filed a case of murder.
Three externed
The police on Sunday, externed 3 notorious criminals from Thane for extortion and threatening people. Kashinath Bhagat, 41, and Pravin Jain, 33, were externed for two years while Sunil Bhoir, 29, was exterened for a year. The three have been prohibited from entering Thane, Kalyan and some areas of Raigad. The Kapurbawdi police station has initiated this action following several complaints against the three.Youth run overn A 25-year-old man died after a vehicle ran over him on the Mumbai-Pune highway near Kopra village, Kalamboli on Sunday night. Buddharam Ragho Ghosh, a resident of Kharghar, breathed his last at around 9 p.m, moments later the vehicle ran over him.
He was rushed to a nearby hospital but was declared dead before admission. The Kalamboli police has filed a case of careless driving against the driver.
House robbed
Robbers looted Rs 17,000 from a house in Vashi on Sunday. The police said that Kiran Dave and his family staying at sector-1 were away on vacation. Dave returned home on Sunday and found that the door was broke open. On entering the house he found that the cash was missing from the cupboard. The Vashi police has filed a case of house-breaking.
