MUMBAI, June 14: Imtiaz Sait-trained Count the Steps justified the tremendous confidence that the race-goers reposed in him by winning with authority, the Kingfisher Colts Trial Stakes, the second classic of the Bangalore Summer Season on Sunday.

Despite lacking in run benefit, the Riyahi-Lyrical Fantasy three-year colt Count The Steps won in a manner that suggested that a great future lies ahead of him. Jockey Rajendra who rode the winner, thus registered his first classic success.

It was a big day for the Poonawallas who bred the winner. After having going through a lean patch for two years, the Poonawalla Stud Farm struck it rich, with the first five placed horses, coming from their stud farm. With their first season stallion Placerville having sired a classic winner in Priceless Asset, and three of them having placed in the Colts STakes, they can look forward to better dividends in the coming months.
