Delhi Police, meanwhile, has resumed its induction programme that was abandoned some time ago. Police sources said new batches have been formed again for a 10-day security induction programme, in batches, in the aftermath of the terror strikes in Mumbai last week. There are also intelligence inputs about possibility of attacks even in the Capital.

Police had recently stopped the training programme. 8220;Senior officers have restarted the training after the Mumbai attacks to be fully prepared for any eventuality,8221; a source in the police department said.

Police sources said the new induction programme includes training to handle sophisticated weapons and decision-making in emergency situations, as arose in Mumbai last Wednesday. 8220;The security personnel are being taught about bombs and how to react when live bombs are found,8221; the source said. 8220;We are also teaching them basics of defusing bombs.8221;

Sources added that security has been substantially increased for VIPs, primarily diplomats from West Asian countries, following the Mumbai attacks. 8220;We have almost doubled the security arrangements for these diplomats,8221; a police source said.
