IMPHAL, DEC 6: Internal crisis in Manipur unit of Congress arising out of election of Yumkham Erabot as new8217; president remained unsolved in spite of AICC observer Bhubaneswar Kalita8217;s efforts to settle the issue.

Party sources said on Monday that both factions 8212; one led by Erabot and other by former president Phungzathang Tonsing 8212; refused to budge from their stands.

Kalita, who had assessed the situation after talking to leaders of both factions, left this afternoon to submit a report to the party high command in Delhi, sources said adding that a decision of the high command was expected anytime from now.

Sources said party8217;s central leadership expressed unhappiness over the developments in Manipur unit particularly before the Assembly elections in the state, which are expected to be held sometime in February next.
