FATEHGARH, May 3: The Congress victory in two seats of the Board of Directors of the Amloh Agriculture Development Cooperative Bank has surprised many, even though the other four seats have been won by the Akalis. However, the Congress victory has boosted the morale of the Congress workers. Former Congress minister Sadhu Singh said that capturing a strong vote bank of the Akalis was a good sign of change in the elections to be conducted in the near future in the state.The Congress is projecting its victory over enthusiastically as the seats won by the party were considered to be the strongholds of Gurcharan Singh Tohra and Finance Minister Capt Kanwaljit Singh - both Akali leaders. Bugga Kalan seat has been won by Harjinder Singh who defeated Akali candidate Jaswinder Singh by 18 votes, while Salana Zone has been won by Sukhwinder Singh who defeated Akali candidate Surinder Singh.However, the Akalis continue to maintain a strong hold in the governing body as the remaining four seats were won by them without any contest.
