AURANGABAD, June 7: Two youths belonging to affluent families have been arrested for stealing computers and spare parts worth about Rs 12 lakh in Aurangabad, Solapur, Akola, Nagpur and other parts of the State.

The police yesterday said the youth, Vivek Kulkarni and his accomplice Rajesh Patil, though computer illiterates, had stolen from various institutions and sold them to quot;needy customersquot;.

On a tip off, police raided the house of Vivek at Nutan colony here and seized the stolen goods worth over Rs eight lakh on Friday.

Vivek had set up a computer institute in the city, while Rajesh kept watch on targeted computer centres and shops, stole the material and supplied them to Vivek who used to dispose them off through his own institute. Thus the duo had been successful in keeping their activities in the dark for a long time, police added.
