MUMBAI, Nov 20: A senior naval officer has lodged a police complaint against G D Somani High School in Cuffe Parade for 8220;carelessness and negligence8221; which reportedly resulted in the permanent loss of his son8217;s tooth on Friday.In his complaint at Cuffe Parade police station NC number 1389/98, Lieutenant Commander Chandra Shekhar Singh has stated that his seven-year-old son Gagan Singh, studying in Std II, lost his tooth when some older boys bumped against him while playing cricket. Singh alleged the school authorities did not cooperate with him in tracing the lost tooth on the school ground for a timely implant. 8220;I had consulted the naval doctor and he told me that only if the tooth could be found can it be put back in place,8221; he added.

Refuting Singh8217;s charges, Principal M P Sharma said, 8220;Our doctor, Mrs L Nagpal, had given timely medical assistance to Gagan and I have also met his father and assured him to take the boy to a good surgeon on Monday.8221;
