MUMBAI, FEB 16: Sohail Adhikari 52 and 6-19 and Viraj Chavan 52 and 3-14 enabled St John the Baptist score a 203-run win over St Stanislaus in the pre-quarterfinals of the Kellog8217;s Super Cup Inter-schools cricket tournament today. St John the Baptist recorded the day8217;s best with 324-8 in 45 overs. Abhishek Nayer8217;s second successive century powered Shardashram English to a 72-run victory over Raja Shivaji in another pre-quarterfinal at the Cross Maidan today.

Nayer8217;s 119 98b, 20215;4 helped his side score 237 for nine wickets. Raja Shivaji were restricted to 165 with Prasad Chavan being the top run-getter with 63 in the tournament conducted by the Mumbai School Sports Association.Left-arm spinner Sunil Waghela 4-38 and off-spinner Pranab Chavan shared the spoils.

Siyaram Podar had Central Railway tottering at 141 for eight at the end of the first day of the three-day Times Shield D Division final at Parsee Gymkhana today.

Siyaram, batting first, were 97-7 at one point before a 70-run eighth wicket partnershipbetween Raju Dabholkar 45, 5215;4 and SK Podar 29, 3215;4 rescued them.

The railwaymen, after being 61-2 at one stage, went crashing to 128-8 as medium pacer Rajesh Pagdare 5-39 did the damage. Southpaw Sudhakar Chavan held fort alone with an unbeaten 81 6215;4.
