
CHANDIGARH, Nov 3: Central Air Command scored a convincing 3-0 victory over Eastern Air Command in their first league encounter on the second day of the Air Force Inter-Command hockey championship being played at Sector 42 Hockey Stadium.
Though Central Air Command dominated the proceeding from the word go but the all important goal eluded them. However, two minutes before the break, A Sujith put CAC ahead with his sizzling shot 1-0.
In the second session Sukhdeep Singh consolidated the lead via penalty corner in the 49th minute 2-0. In the dying minutes of the game Banister completed the tally 3-0.
In the second match of the day, Air Head Quarters and Training Command played 1-1 draw. After a barren first half, Air Head Quarters shot into the lead through Jagan Topno in the opening minutes of the second session through a penalty corner 1-0. But the lead was shortlived as ten minutes later Neeraj Sahu scored an equaliser 1-1.
In the later stages of the encounter, Training Command attackers made forays into the rival citadel but the match winner eluded the team.
In the last match of the day, South Western Air Command defeated Southern Air Command 4-2. Ramesh Kumar and Mukesh Kumar scored two goals each for the winners while Satvir Singh scored for the losers.
