College colours for 52 students

CHANDIGARH, March 10: Over 210 students were awarded prizes for academic and other achievements at the annual prize distribution function held at the Government College Sector 46, here, today.

While 12 persons received the roll of honour, five of them for achievements in sports and the other in cultural activities, 52 others received the college colours for sports and extra-curricular activities.

Prizes for distinction in academics were awarded to 142 students. While Vinod Kumar was declared the best athlete for 1998-99 in the male category, Manpreet Kaur was declared the best athlete for the session in the female category.

Adviser to the UT administrator Jagdish Sagar, who was the chief guest, gave away the prizes.
