
Kids on a roll
This programme promises to offer musical entertainment for kids. Aalok, a cultural organisation, presents Swapnat Pahili Ranichi Baag, a programme of songs for children. The songs, based on poems by Vinda Karandikar and Mangesh Padgaonkar and set to music by Dr. Saleel Kulkarni, will be presented on May 20 and again on May 27 at 6 p.m. at the Bharat Natya Mandir.
The highlight of the evening is the fact that some of the songs will be sung by the tiny tots themselves. These young singers include Ketan Godbole, Ankita Deole, Meghana Sardar, Neha Madiwale, Vedali Kshirsagar and Ketaki Mategaonkar. Sandeep Belwalkar will compere the show.

Hit the pool!
Cuing up at a pool table in the city this Tuesday was none other than former national snooker champion Yasin Merchant. He inaugurated the Pegasus sports bar at the San Mahu complex opposite the Poona Club by cutting the ribbon and a cake shaped exactly like a pool table. The sports bar, owned by Abhijit Taware, boasts of a netcafe, snack and salad bar, besides, of course, the four pool tables. Pool is truly cool, huh?

Noted theatre, television and film actress Rohini Hattangadi and her husband Jayadev, an actor in his own right and a promoter of the arts of play-writing, mask making and direction, will be in town on the evening of May 27, to appreciate the dance performance of a student of Antara Nritya Niketan.8217;
On the occasion of its 12th anniversary, the dance institute, a brain-child of Guru Anuradha Girish Jog, will entertain audiences with a dance performance, Nritya Ratna Panchalika, at the Tilak Smarak Mandir, by Jahnavee Chitte. Chitte has been learning Bharatnatyam for the last seven years at the institute.
