With a seminar for the upcoming generation of Hindi writers, scheduled to take off at the S.P. College on May 17. Organised by the Kendriya Hindi Sanchalanaya and Sarjana, a cultural association, the seminar is aimed to acquaint the writers with different forms of literature and guide them in the writing. To be inaugurated by Arun Sadhu, head, department of journalism and communication studies, the other participants will be Dr. Sarojini Pritam, children's author Dr. Harikrishna Devsare, Brijsundar Padhi, Dr. Kesharilal Verma, amongst others.Age no barThere's news for the aged. With a park being created exclusively for them at Yamunanagar in Pimpri-Chinchwad, the foundation of which was laid by Pramod Navalkar on May 14. Involving an outlay of about seven lakh rupees funded by the PCMC, the floral landscape will have an attractive waterfall, a jogging track and lawns. While benches will provide a seating respite, the adventurous seniors can relive their childhood on swings. Aptly named `Nana-Nani' park, local corporator Sulbha Ubhale has shown keen interest in its progress. Though the exact period required for its completion is yet to be ascertained, a swimming pool adjacent to the park was inaugurated by Diwakar Raote, state minister for trade and commerce on the same day. The pool construction which has reached the half-way stage will have in its complex a mini gym, a canteen and a separate pool for kids.
