MUMBAI, AUGUST 27: Children playing in the compound of a building at Tilak Road, Santacruz West, had a miraculous escape when a newly constructed 15-foot-high wall collapsed on Thursday. Residents said the incident occurred at around 11 am.
The wall, one brick in breadth, was built three months ago and separated Heamani Niwas from Gadha Niwas. Gadha Niwas is currently under construction.Fire-brigade officials revealed that the wall separating the two compounds came down due to the sheer load of tiles placed against it for support. The tiles were part of the building material kept there by the construction company. Three-quarters of the 100-foot-long wall collapsed, damaging two cars parked in the compound of Heamani Niwas.
Santacruz police have registered a case and investigations are on.
