DHARAMSALA, JAN 31: The second stage of the Indo-German Changar Project would be launched from April 1 to cover 40 panchayats of Palampur, Baijnath and Jaisinghpur.This was stated by Chief Minister P.K.Dhumal while addressing a gathering after inaugurating Ayurvedic dispensary at Hardara, constructed at a cost of Rs 17 lakh. The CM said that Rs 30 crore would be spent on the project, out of which Rs 20 crore would be spent by the German government and Rs 10 crore by the state government. It would be completed within five years.He said the project was undertaken in 1993 under which 107 panchayats were selected for afforestation and other activities to develop the Changar Area.Dhumal announced Rs 2 lakhs for the construction of veterinary dispensary in Rodda panchayat and announced upgrading of the high school at Gharana to senior secondary school. MP Shanta Kumar also spoke on the occasion.
