16 villagers shot dead in Doda
In the third massacre in just over a month in Jammu and Kashmir8217;s Doda district, suspected militants struck in two villages last night, killing eight people, including two women, all Hindus. While the first attack was at Chana village at around 10.30 p.m., the second happened at Srawan, barely 15 km away, at 3 a.m. Five villagers were hurt and five are missing.

PMs upbeat on eve of talks
Prime Ministers Atal Behari Vajpayee and Nawaz Sharif arrived in Colombo today, a day ahead of their first meeting, holding out hope for a resumption of dialogue between the two countries.
