Vajpayee renews talks offer to Pak
Vehemently opposing attempts by Pakistan to internationalise the Kashmir issue, Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee today renewed his offer for direct talks to Nawaz Sharif to discuss all the contentious bilateral issues, including Kashmir. The Prime Minister, in the meantime, announced another Rs 100 crore as special Central assistance for Himachal Pradesh to meet its developmental needs, says a report from Shimla.
Army officer killed in Jamp;K
Pakistani troops resorted to unprovoked firing on village Hatlangoo in Uri sector today while an Army officer and eight militants were among 15 killed and six others including three Army officers injured in Jamp;K during the past 24 hours.
