Demand for probe into Bhagwat sack
The Opposition joined ranks in the Lok Sabha to make a determined bid to force the Government to agree to a thorough debate on the 8220;unprecedented8221; sacking of former Navy chief Admiral Vishnu Bhagwat and demanded a probe by a joint parliamentary committee. For a full hour during zero hour, the entire Opposition attacked the Government forcing the PM to use the first opportunity to try his hand at persuading Leader of the Opposition Sharad Pawar not to insist on a debate in the House.
Bonanza for STD users soon
While smaller users across the country will witness fairly steep hikes in their monthly telephone bills, there8217;s virtually a bonanza for corporates and other large users. Beginning April 1, STD rates will be cut by around 22 per cent and international call rates by around 30 per cent.
