North states agree to pool police forces
Deployment of the Punjab Armed Police in Jammu and Kashmir for the proposed panchayat elections scheduled for May would herald a nationwide scheme for sharing of police forces among the neighbouring states during exigencies. Union Home Minister L. K. Advani announced this decision of the 27th Northern Zonal Council meeting, hosted by Haryana here today.
