Govt will rule, not party: PM
Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee today sealed the party-vs-government debate at the two-day National Executive of the Bharatiya Janata Party BJP at Bangalore by asserting the supremacy of his government over the party when it came to matters of governance. The party was also forced to make amendments in its political resolution to tone down its comments on the government and include its achievements.

Patiala cinema hall attacked
After the attacks in New Delhi and Mumbai, the controversial movie quot;Firequot; today came under attack here when some unidentified miscreants attacked Patiala8217;s Rakhra Palace cinema this afternoon. The screening of the movie had just started in the hall when the glasses of the cinema were smashed and about a dozen cars parked in the parking area of the cinema were also damaged during the attack.

No review of edict: Jathedar
Akal Takht Jathedar Ranjit Singh today refused to review the hukamnama issued by him to curb infighting in SAD and warned that its critics would be dealt with sternly.
