Govt pushes in Bill on Vananchal
The Lok Sabha was adjourned sine die today as angry Rashtriya Loktantrik Morcha RLM MPs opposed the introduction of the Bihar Reorganisation Bill, 1998. They argued that the Centre cannot 8220;impose8221; a Bill which has been rejected by the State, says a report from New Delhi. The controversial Bill, which seeks to carve out Bihar8217;s tribal districts into a separate state of Vananchal, was introduced in the Lok Sabha at 3.10 p.m. by Home Minister L. K. Advani after two adjournments.

Punjab govt to be downsized
The Punjab government would be downsized shortly, state Finance Minister Kanwaljit Singh said today. 8220;We will be downsizing the government soon. In fact, a concrete announcement in this regard would be made in two to four days,8221; Singh said while addressing a meeting organised by the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, says a report from New Delhi.
