CBSE to certify school-based evaluation

Other factors like communication skills, regularity, discipline, cleanliness, attitudes towards teachers, schoolmates and extracurricular activities go a long way in shaping the personality of a person. So, we decided that a scheme to identify the positive attributes of the learner which are not usually assessed during the examination conducted by CBSE be introduced.quot;

Attitude, traits, competence and skills of the learners would be identified by the school on a five point scale and each grade of the scale would refer to the level of performance, which would be excellent, very good, good, average and below average. As per the CBSE guidelines issued to the schools, the certificate issued by the CBSE regarding the examination conducted by it will contain a foot note mentioning that quot;another certificate is being issued by the school on a format prescribed by CBSE which would be taken cognisance of while judging the total personality of the student.quot;
