SAS NAGAR, Oct 2: The case of the death of Ravinder Dhawan in a Phase II private hospital recently, has taken a new turn. The Chandigarh branch of the Indian Medical Association has alleged that the police has registered a case under pressure.

The representatives of the association today met the SSP and registered their protest. Dr Major Anil Kumar said that the police had registered the case under pressure. And alleged that it was not right to register a case under Section 304 A as the post-mortem report was awaited. He said that Salil Saha had the consent letter of the deceased8217;s father, so no case can be registered against him.

The SSP later told newspersons that the case was registered on the basis of the post-mortem report and the police was investigating the case, and the doctor could submit any documents which could help in the investigations.

MC Safai union holds dharna
The Municipal Council Safai Union held a two-hour dharna outside the council office in Phase VII, yesterday. The were protesting against the privatisation move of the council. Addressing the gathering, union president, Chetan Lal said that if the council didn8217;t accept their demands immediately, the union would daily organise rallies in front of the houses of the council officers after the October 5.
