Markets across the world are going through a turbulent phase. A tremor in New York affects markets worldwide. A comparison of the markets of the world shows the relative strengths and importance of them.

New York has a market capitalisation of 9,135 billion. Tokyo is next with 2670 billion. The markets of small countries boast of large capitalisation. Taipei for instance has a market capitalisation of 372 billion which is higher than of Mumbai with a figure of 171 billion. Kuala Lumpur and Hong Hong are also much higher than Mumbai. But Mumbai scores better than the market of Singapore 158 billion, Seoul 134 billion, Bangkok 64 billion and Manila 55 billion.
