The Left has enough reasons to be miffed with President A P J Kalam. Only recently, the the Rashtrapti Bhavan incumbent said India would do well with a two-party system, which effectively meant cutting out the comrades from power politics. So, at an event in the Capital celebrating 30 years of Left rule in West Bengal, CPI leader A B Bardhan made his displeasure known in no uncertain manner. He argued vehemently that India
with its diversity and vastness could never have a two-party system. He grandly concluded that no alignment was possible without the Left, and those who ignored this were simply not being real.
