‘It won’t motivate the team’ •I don’t think such things work. By sending such letters he’s just insulting the players. I don’t know what his intentions are but such actions don’t motivate a team. I won’t do such a thing. The best thing to do when a team is down is to sit with them and sort out the problem areas. And the best thing about it is he (John) didn’t go to the press nor did he involve any officials. His was a direct approach and that’s also my style. The players should understand that a sweet-talking coach is no good for them, they should take his comments in their stride.
