Beleaguered British Prime Minister suffered a fresh blow as two separate polls published on Sunday showed that Gordon Brown was rated as the worst premier since 1945 and suggesting a majority of his party supporters would be more likely to rally behind the Labour Party if he was replaced.The Mail on Sunday/BPIX survey suggested that Brown’s stock has fallen so low that he heads a list of the most uninspiring premiers since the second world war. Almost a third of voters awarded him the title of worst post-war prime minister, beating Conservative Party's John Major into second place.Brown is Britain’s worst post-war leader and should resign as Prime Minister, the opinion poll found.The survey showed that the Conservative Party has opened up a gap of 23 points over Labour. David Cameron’s party is on 47, with Labour on 24 and Nick Clegg’s Liberal Democrats on 16.The poll starkly illustrates the charisma gap between the two main party leaders, with just one per cent of respondents regarding Brown as "very charismatic", compared with 18 per cent for Cameron.Another poll for the Sunday Express showed that more than half of Labour supporters would be more likely to back the ruling party in an election under a new leader.The ICM survey put the ruling party 16 percentage points behind the main opposition Conservatives, while the BPIX poll for the Mail online had the government a whopping 23 points behind the Tories.Fifty-seven per cent of Labour supporters would be more likely to vote for the party if Brown were ousted, compared to 25 per cent who said they would be less likely to do so, the survey suggested.
