Central team satisfied with KMC

During the visit to the health centres of the Kolkata Municipal Corporation KMC on Saturday, a team of Union Ministry of Health 038; Family Welfare said the preventive measures taken in the city against dengue are satisfactory. The team comprised Pushpita Banerjee, Chief Medical Officer of ministry health and family welfare, and HG Thakur, consultant, National Vector-borne Diseases Control Programme, among others. The dengue count in the city has reached 60. Four people have died of dengue. The figures of malignant malaria cases have crossed 650 with two deaths.

IIT student held with heroin

A student of agricultural and food engineering department of IIT- Kharagpur was arrested with 100 grams of heroin on Saturday. Police, said he was arrested from within the campus.
